In recognition of Bremerhaven’s contribution to scientific research, it earned the title of the City of Science in 2005. In order to celebrate this, The Science Pier, was an event showcasing Bremerhaven’s maritime scientific heritage. The Design team created a promotional shopwindow campaign, collaborated on the overall design of the exhibition Bremerhaven’s Marine Expertise and the Pier Information Cubes.
Part 2a - Exhibition Bremerhaven’s Marine History
The exhibition was held in ten 20ft (m2) containers, each dedicated to one of the following scientific themes: Polar Research, Nutrition From The Sea, Logistics, Wind Energy, Migration Research and Marine Research.
Part 2b - Filmcontainer
One of the containers, played a film aimed at helping the public to understand the complicated scientific subjects treated in the exhibition. From specific points within the city, each scientist is interviewed in an informal manner, giving down-to-earth, simplified explanations.
